Dear castle visitors!
Our doors are open. We look forward to welcoming you at Schloss Tratzberg!
Due to an imminent, strong foehn storm event, we have to pause the castle operation for safety reasons up to and including Easter Monday, 01.04.2024. We ask for your understanding!
Tratzberg Castl is old – very old! And that’s why there is stoll no heating or similar arrangements to ensure a pleasant (and above all safe) visit to Tratzberg Castle even in winter.
In addition, we protect our furnishings, the old walls and the valuable paintings from too many climate fluctuations. This means, we can guarantee that our beautiful fairytale castle will continue to be preserved in the future. We kindly ask for your understanding!
During the summer season we open our castle for you from Thursday – Sunday and on all public holidays from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm. Monday – Wednesday we give our old walls a little break (rest day). The last guided tours start at 16:00.WednesdaySunday
Visiting Tratzberg Castle is only possible with participation in a guided tour. A “free” exploration of the castle is unfortunately not possible!
Our tours usually start every 20 minutes. Please understand that we cannot give fixed starting times for tours. We are as flexible as possible according to the current number of guests and try to keep waiting times short.
Note: For organizational reasons, only a maximum of three tours per hour are possible, which can lead to waiting times on busy days.
Especially during holiday periods, on weekends and on “less nice” days, Tratzberg Castle can be very crowded. Waiting times of more than an hour are then possible. If possible, plan your visit in advance at the following times:
In order to avoid unnecessary waiting times, we also recommend that you purchase your tickets in advance conveniently and easily via our online shop. This is how you secure a fixed visit window. Online booking is possible up to 24 hours before your visit!
